Pinot Noir Day is celebrated around the world on August 18.  Save 20% on Pinot Noir -with code PINOT, valid until 25 August 2024.

20 years ago, Pinot Noir was barely planted in NZ. There had been some experimentation in the Wairarapa in the 1880s, but it was 100 years before NZ Pinot gained popularity and began to be planted more widely.

Now, Pinot Noir is New Zealand's second most planted grape after Sauvignon Blanc. It is predominantly grown in cooler southerly wine regions including Central Otago, North Canterbury, Marlborough and the Wairarapa. There are a variety of styles from youthful, fruity and generous to fuller bodied, age-worthy wines.
