Ata Rangi McCrone Vineyard Pinot Noir 2016 Martinborough New Zealand 750ml

Ata Rangi's McCrone Vineyard was planted in 2001 using a mix of clones that has become part of the Ata Rangi fabric: Abel or Gumboot clone Dijon selections (115 and 777) and Clone 5. Although just around the corner from the home block, the soils are remarkably different, with a compact seam of clay. The result is a silkier wine than the textural style of the Martinborough Pinot Noir. The winemaking is exactly the same as for the renowned Ata Rangi Pinot Noir, it is fascinating to see two distinct, site-specific expressions of this wonderful grape.
