Collection: Sauvignon Blanc

This week we are showcasing Sauvignon Blanc. It was first planted in Marlborough in the 1970s and by the early 1980s it was making waves at international tastings. The combination of terroir, climate and proximity to the sea did wonderful things to Sauvignon Blanc. Traditionally, Sauvignon Blanc was an austere variety.  Even the best wines of Sancerre were fairly demure and restrained. In contrast, New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc captured global attention with electrifying, unforgettable aromas and flavours; crisp lime, elderflower, passion fruit and juicy stone fruit mingle and meld into a mouthwatering palate, balanced by subtle mineral notes and a long finish.
