The grapes were hand-harvested, then whole bunch pressed straight to barrel without settling. The juice was fermented in one 500 Litre Puncheon and three older barriques to bring complexity. Once dry, the wine went through Malolactic fermentation while receiving 4 lees stirs over 4 months. The wine sat without sulphur until one week before blending in February. The wine received no fining, and only a light filtration before bottling.

A complex and alluring bouquet that increases in its intensity as the wine open up in glass and the scents are released. Aromas of peach and quince, apple and grapefruit ten blossoms and layering of vanilla scented French barrel. There is a message of mineral earth and sweet air highlights. On the palate – a lovely mouthfeel engages the palate first followed by flavours of fresh and fleshy stone fruits, tree fruits and barrel spices. Youthful, new and vibrant with some cellar time an easy decision if you can wait. Best drinking from mid to late 2022 through 2028 94 Points EXCELLENT Cameron Douglas Master Sommelier – July 2021

Supremely elegant and seductively complex, showing nectarine, fresh fig, roasted hazelnut and vanilla characters with a hint of brioche on the nose. The concentrated palate exhibits excellent focus and flow, wonderfully enhanced by creamy texture and beautifully pitched acidity, finishing impressively long and refined. At its best: now to 2030 – 95 pts and 5 Stars Sam Kim Wine Orbit – July 2021

Attractive chardonnay from Te Muna with lemon curd, struck-flint, mineral, grapefruit, white peach, ginger and yeast lees flavours. Good weight and impressive purity with an ethereal texture 93 pts Bob Campbell Master of Wine – July 2021
