New Zealand’s wine regions cover over 1,100 km of land from Northland to Central Otago, home to some of the world’s most southerly vineyards.

The wine regions have maritime climates and benefit from long sunshine hours with nights cooled by the ocean. The exception is Central Otago with a continental climate. Here summers are hot but the Southern Alps cool the nights giving a high diurnal range that does wonderful things to Pinot Noir.
